Compulsory ID database is in line of importance so that when the cops stop you , they can see all your records and let you go or arrest you.
Lack of database makes the SARS officers harass suspected criminals. (not saying they are not corrupt, but there's simply lack of evidence on the victim's part) .Even in developed countries cops may harass suspects ,let alone a third world with no data collections what so ever.
The new SWAT won't be any different until there's a way to quickly verify the suspect's criminal record through their database.

But the scenario you are painting can never be obtainable in the Nigerian society. This is because the people in authority is more concerned with their individual gain (in any given opportunity) than what the outcome should be whether Justice is served or not.

Even the SARS and the police in general, you are referring to is a major stain on this country. For instance, we are told bail is free. If you have gone to the station for that purpose, you will understand better.

More so, the government is seen to be insincere with almost all their policies and programme implementation. For example, when government destroys shanties and slums for upgrade, how many of such do attain completion before the tenure of such administration and the succeeding one will only abandon the project. Same goes for road construction. Government can only complete the ones with vested interest.

Most Nigerians oppose demolition of slums and/or villages or ghetto and unplanned settlements .There's usually protest and strong oppositions whenever such ideas are brought up. They also oppose progressive laws such as outlawing street /roadside hawking , overloading of vehicles, compulsory driver's license, wrongful parking, compulsory ID database , border demarcations and security etc . Whenever there's talks about these stuffs ,eye brows are often raised like you're the devil trying to destroy people's lives or you're a bigot trying to protect the borders .

Nigeria is one of the most lawless countries on earth and I am convinced law and order must be forcefully enforced. Nigerians must accept the fact that a lot of things need to be demolished on the path towards Nigeria's development. Nigerians must accept that Laws need to be enacted , enforced and obeyed. The society needs to be more organized . Even though Government shouldn't meddle into people's lives, some situations require deliberate and forceful interventions, and in fact gentrification is part of urban planning which is part of government's obligation. Gentrification should be High priority for most Nigerian governors

government should plan new settlements before destroying old ones

Most of you live in or desire to live in developed countries but do not want to do the right thing.
All I see are silly excuses, that's why Nigeria is shithole with poor quality of everything because of your lackadaisical behavior you give too many passes . For example , building inspectors take bribes and allow illegal structures. Students cheat or bribe teachers to pass exams instead of understanding the practical concept of things. Total lawlessness. The aesthetics and quality of most things in Nigeria is low including the dirty and malnourished humans . There's lack of attention to detail . Everything stinks, the Lekki is shithole with open sewers . Go through my points and read to understand how things are done.
Calabar will be first world developed by 2035.

I concur, we Nigerians are very good at giving excuses tell a Nigerian to do something He or She will give you 101 reasons why the said thing which has been working in other climes will not work here in Nigeria. Untill we do away with such pessimistic mindset am afraid Nigeria will remain stagnant.
