The Level Of Deterioration In Imo State Basic Education System. by evana2000: 2:09pm On Nov 06, 2020
Nairalanders; I want to share this as it is bordering every concerned IMO citizen. The level of deterioration in imo state basic education system. Infact imo state has been known for civil servant state, and also thrives in terms of education. The rate of illiteracy in imo state is very low. Currently the education system in imo state is nothing to write about. 2020 Academic Calendar where affected by the global pandemic covid-19. Since the resumption of ministries, and businesses, and schools, Imo state have not conducted any exam. Starting from the common Entrance Examination, Bece and first living school certificate also known as UBEAT. Despite the pandemic so many states have conducted their exams. Imo state have not even schedule their time table. Parents have paid for this exams and yet the commissioner for education Prof. B.T.O Ikegwuoha have not addressed this issues on ground. Now our take on this matter is , if the government are not ready to conduct exams this year, the government should refund the fees that has been paid to them by the parents.since most of the children in government owned schools have been withdrawn by there parents to private schools. Since government are no longer serious in conducting exams. Either the government conduct exams or refund the fees to the parents of the affected candidates. Else face protest by the parents of the affected candidates.
