Is it that Nigeria has always had this much snake eaters? Or the recession and resultant hunger in the land has turned everyone into a reptile eater?
Snake has always been a delicacy. Even cobra and other venomous snakes like vipers. Though many shun venomous ones.
All constrictor snakes are considered easy meat.

My only surprise is that I thought with greater urbanisation, less people will know how to eat snake. But it seems not to be the case.
They still eat snakes found on building plots in the cities.

humans are part of nature too and we exist in that food chain you talking about...
So your point is invalid, should we also stop killing fishes, snail, goat, cow and hens, why not fight for their rights too,you overzealous people who seek to give out the impression that you are liberal by holding onto whitemen craps without truly understanding it...
Aside religious vegetarians, killing of animals for meat is only frowned upon for the purpose of animals Perpetualty, that's considering their gestation period and number of offspring they produce against their demand as meat so as to prevent their extinction,if all is good, then no offense in kiling them for meat.
