Business / Ogun Infrastructural Development Attracts Real Estate Revolution by 666999mmm: 3:17pm On Aug 16, 2022
Ogun Infrastructural Development Attracts Real Estate Revolution

Ogun State is gradually witnessing a real estate revolution, thanks to the heavy investment in infrastructural development both by the federal government and the Ogun State government.

Investments in road and rail transportations, as well as in a cargo airport, are beginning to attract investment in the real estate sector of the state, as both residential and business properties are springing up around the state, especially in the capital, Abeokuta, its environs, as well as in strategic belts and corridors opened up by new rail and road projects.

For instance, the 14km Ijebu Ode-Mojoda-Epe Road, which was completed in record time, has opened up 30 communities which have been reconnected and real estate development boosted. Potential for investment and industrialisation has also been enhanced with the construction of the road.

Another infrastructural project which has triggered a surge in real estate investment is the 42km Sagamu-Abeokuta Interchange. The interchange is both symbolic and significant, being the gateway to the capital of the Gateway State and stretching through critical business and residential districts.

The reconstruction of that road has significantly increased industrial and residential urbanisation of that corridor.

Coupled with the “Let There Be Light” project, which has lit up the road, the area has become the epicenter of a real estate revolution in Ogun State.

One of the new real estate developments attracted by an upgrade of infrastructure in that axis is the state-owned Kobape Housing Estate, located along the Sagamu-Abeokuta Interchange. The estate is being embarked on under the Affordable Housing Scheme of the state government to further open up the new ‘Greater Abeokuta’ districts.

Perhaps the most eye-catching real estate development in the Greater Abeokuta district is the Bethel Park Estate, by Pleasant House Limited. Located in the rapidly developing corridor of Kobape-Abeokuta axis, the Bethel Park is an exclusive site and service estate with a design of concept for bespoke luxury and lifestyle.

Like other real estate properties springing up in the area, Bethel Park Estate is taking advantage of the proximity of the greater Abeokuta district to new landmarks and infrastructure. For instance, the location is just 10 minutes drive from the Abeokuta railway terminal, from where commuters can take a 40-minute train ride to the Ebute Metta train station in Lagos.

Residents of estates such as the Kobape Housing Estate and Bethel Park Estate only have to spend 12 minutes on a well-paved road to reach Abeokuta’s central business district and 40 minutes to Lagos’ seat of power in Alausa, Ikeja by road.

What’s more, the new estates springing up in Ogun are mindful of comfort, security, ease and aesthetics. For instance, the Bethel Park Estate is complete with good road network, uninterrupted power supply, proper layout, 24 hours security and surveillance CCTV, independent water plant, green areas and recreation facilities.

Without a doubt, Ogun is a model example of how government’s investment in one sector can set off private sector-led revolution in adjoining sectors.

Health / FMC Abeokuta not in crisis - Management by 666999mmm: 5:11pm On Jul 25, 2022
FMC Abeokuta not in crisis -Management

The management of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) at Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State has denied rumours that the centre has been engulfed in crisis.

The clarification follows news being peddled by some bloggers that war and disunity have taken over the hospital.

But the institution's Head of Public Relations, Mr. Segun Orisajo, said on Monday that the centre is at peace and it's services are being rendered uninterrupted.

Orisajo, in a statement in Abeokuta, dispelled what he described as 'make-belief insinuations by authors of the falsehood publications'.

The FMC spokesperson said the management viewed the latest publications as the handiwork of some disgruntled elements, who are hell bent at fanning embers of acrimony and disaffection among the ranks and file of the hospital workforce.

He described, as laughable the news contents of the publications, saying it was rehash of the old issues that have been well trashed by some competent government authorities.

He said, "For clarity purposes, I wish to place on record that the past five years of the present administration in the Centre had been the most peaceful in the sense that no single internal strike by unions or workers has been recorded.

"It is, therefore, unfortunate that the issues being referred to in the publications and interpreted as war or crisis were purely family affairs that had since been amicably resolved.

"Members of the public are hereby enjoined to disregard any publication suggestive of war or crisis in the centre.

"Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta is peaceful and progressing while patients' satisfaction is at its best under the present administration of Professor Adewale Musa-Olomu."

Politics / DACA backs Abiodun's second term bid, blasts critics by 666999mmm: 7:53am On May 11, 2022
DACA backs Abiodun's second term bid, blasts critics

A political support group, Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA) rallying support for the second term bid of Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that no amount of unwarranted attack and sponsored smear campaign can deter the people of the state from voting in Gov Dapo Abiodun for another four years term in 2023.

DACA in a statement signed by its convener, Mr Armstrong 'Tope Akintunde and made available to journalists at Abeokuta, the state capital by the group Media Consultant, Oluwaseun Joshua, revealed that those engaging in this condemnable acts are no other than those desperate politicians the residents of the state had once rejected at the poll but are hell-bent on finding relevance at all cost.

The group explained that the growing attacks against the governor of the state in recent times were nothing but the ranting of an ant and sheer product of "politics of bitterness and pull him down''.

DACA said that the people of the state are however very wise and quite discerning and as a result could read in-between the line and found out that jealousy and politics of bitterness are the major driving forces.

The group said "it is quite unfortunate that some spent forces and enemies of meaningful governance and exciting development that we have been witnessing in the state in the last three years under Gov Dapo Abiodun will keep on spewing out falsehood and all manners of gibberish just because against their expectations, the governor has continued to record ground breaking achievements in all the critical sectors

"We are also aware that the entrance of Sen Adeola Olamilekan Solomon popularly called Yayi into Ogun State politics and the warm embrace the highly enterprising and selfless politician had received from the peace loving members of Ogun APC, unlike how someone in the past had threatened to bring down the whole world crashing on him is also said to be at the heart of these anti-democratic elements"

It stated further that "we are not surprising that these frivolous petitions and all sorts of unfounded stories are flying around now because they knew that the second term of Gov Abiodun is already mission accomplished. This is what the governor had achieved with his scintillating performance in the last three years.

"It is obvious that the governor has put his whole soul in the business of raising the bar of qualitative governance in the state. The governor has invested in infrastructural development, the road construction are spread across the state, critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, employment and empowerment for the youth and women have not been allowed to suffer.

"The dream of a Cargo and passenger airport at Ilisan Remo are becoming reality by December. Rather than all this distraction, I think what is needed now is to further support and cooperate with the governor so that he could be encouraged to do more for the people.

"We are also of the strong opinion that either those desperate politicians like it or not, God is involved, the people of the state also want it, so the second term ambition of our hardworking governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun is already a mission accomplished".

ALHAJA FAIDA AKINTUNDE SARUMI: A shame to womanhood

The atrocities and exploitation of the APC Abeokuta North chairperson (Alhaja Faida Sarumi) is second to known, if this is what a woman in helms of affairs of an organisation or politics portrays and stand for, then we need to have a rethink.

She is a shame to women in politics and an hindrance to the campaign for women to have a reasonable slot in gender representation( independent findings can confirm this).

She lack the character and competence, agreed for money and injustice is beyond human comprehension, above all she has collected thousands from all aspirant before anyone can declare aspiration in the local Govt.

She even bragged to have collected millions of naira from the son of a former Governor and also with a promise to get a car after the primaries from him as a gift.

She openly campaigned and mandate all delegates, wards and Local Government party Exco to vote for the son of a former Governor and a particular House of Assembly member who she said has promised her a monthly take home when the aspirant get the ticket of the party, what a shame of a party chairperson.

To worsen it, she boasted that she has the instruction of the Governor of Ogun state to campaign openly and ensure the two aspirant emerge.

During the Local Government elections, she collected money from different aspirant then, a case study is one aspirant JJ that she swindled in her ward( ward cool. Within a year that she became the chairperson of APC Abeokuta North local government, her greed for money, fetish oath and threat to members of the party within the LG has made most of the party loyalist leave the party while some vow to work against the party in the coming elections if she is not cub or called to order.

Howbeit, if the Governor and the APC State chairman refuse to call her to order or suspend her, the coming primary election may cause another loss to the party in Abeokuta North.
