Explosion heard near Kabul airport amid attack warnings
A rocket has struck a neighbourhood just northwest of the airport, killing a child, Afghan police chief says.

The Taliban has said that a US airstrike targeted a suicide bomber in a vehicle who wanted to attack the Kabul international airport amid the American military’s evacuation there.

In what appeared to be a separate incident on Sunday, a rocket struck a neighbourhood just northwest of the airport, killing a child.
