1 Corinthians 7:14 (KJV) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

I just love God, He makes provisions for every circumstance, nothing catches Him by surprise.

Jesus Christ literally said that marriage was optional were His followers are concerned, and in Luke 20 vs 34 - 36 He declared that marriages are of this world and not of the Kingdom of God. undecided

So how then can a one be sanctified by that that is of this world? How can a one, by choosing to doing that which of this world (and not sin) be made righteous by it? undecided

So what do we do? undecided

Ignore Jesus Christ so we can follow Paul? undecided
Or
Do we ignore Paul to follow Jesus Christ? undecided

There is no need to ignore anyone, Paul was talking to believers who were already married before accepting Christ. As Christ says except on the ground of sexual immorality we should not divorce. In order to maintain that command and avoid confusion in the church, Paul gave this instruction.
If you read the book of 1 Corinthians you will discover that Paul himself was not married and he even advised that we shouldn't except we can't control our passion.
So no need to ignore any part of the scripture as all scripture are inspired by God.
Peace

You are kidding, right? undecided

Jesus Christ said what He said of marriage in Luke 20 vs 34 - 36 to an audience of those who were some of them also married.. He made it profoundly clear to them that marriage is not of the Kingdom of God and this applies whether you chose to marry or not - Matthew 19 vs 7 - 11 undecided

So, when Paul supposedly declared in 1 Corinthians 7 vs 14
KaideeGee:
1 Corinthians 7:14 (KJV) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
He tried to import that which applied to those of the Old Covenant, into the New Covenant, against Jesus Christ. undecided

And we know that that who belong to the New Covenant cannot keep the other foot in the Old Covenant - do not store new wine in old wine skin....so what Paul declared there does in deed contradict Jesus Christ. undecided
