They use the accounts to open scam profiles for internet fraud (yahoo yahoo). The reason they choose older and active accounts is because it is less likely to be blocked or flagged by Facebook. Newer accounts are more likely to be detected by Facebook if used for fraudulent activities

On your second question
It doesn't necessarily have to be porn, they can just use sexy and seductive pictures to lure you with the promise that you'll chat with the models

That's how my FB account was hacked few days ago on nairaland because I clicked on a link attached to a comedy skit here on nairaland. Now the idiot has changed my username, phone number and even email on my Facebook account.
