Hey guys I'm a sys admin guy trying to get into DevOps. I work on Windows and Linux servers where I work atm. I know it's not an easy field to transition into and it's gonna be difficult landing a role in the field as most companies want experienced peeps. Kindly advise on what I need to do to get recruiters to give me a shot at this role in order to get my foot to the door. My Skills: Real good understanding of operating system(Linux) Basic understanding of source control (GIT), CI tools for building ( Jenkins, maven) and deployment. Configuration management using Ansible Understanding of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Infrastructure knowledge AWS/VMWARE Terraform Basic Python Knowledge Basic understanding of monitoring using Prometheus & Graphana NB I'm currently studying for CKA exam scheduled for next month 4 Likes |
