Have you ruled out the possibiliy of parasitic infection ?
The Pinworm, E. Vermicularis crawls out of the host's rectum in the evenings to lay its eggs around the anus. The eggs are such that they cause extreme irritation of the anus, giving the victim uncontrollable desire to scratch the area.
The eggs attach to the fingers while scratching and are swallowed back into the GIT when the finger are inserted in the mouth. The eggs develop into more adult worms that repeat the cycle.
MODES OF TRANSMISSION
- Egg infested beddings , clothes, underwear,
- poor handwashing habits
- sexual intercourse (vaginal or anal) the eggs are tranferred and if allowed to hatch,the worms crawl into anus.
