What is PID? I've been asked this question by numerous ladies on here. Infact, out of 100 ladies that chat me up thinking they just have a va.ginal infection, about 80 % or more actually have PID.

Yes, it's that common. If not more

PID is an acronym for Pelvic inflammatory disease. It is a complication of infection ascending up to the reproductive organs (yes, those organs responsible for a woman getting pregnant and carrying a baby to full term) that is what makes it extremely dangerous. That is one of the most common reasons young women get married and try to conceive for years without success or end up with ectopic pregnancies or blocked tubes and other harsh complications like sepsis which could be fatal, chronic/long lasting/life long severe pelvic pains

PID dosen't always come with symptoms but in most cases, it's characterized by a history of or current Lower abdominal or pelvic discomfort,

abnormal va.ginal discharge (may or may not smell offensive),

fever, weakness or body pains in some cases,

co-infection with candida or bacterial vaginosis etc

PID requires immediate/emergency treatment once detected

All sxxxual partners have to treat. If possible, if you've had a history of PID with a particular sxxual partner, it's best to stop all unprotected sxxxual intercourse with that partner because the chances of it returning is high.

Every woman is different. Woman A could have PID for years and still be lucky to treat it without complications and even get pregnant with the infection. While woman B could develop PID and have complications in as little as few months and come down with blocked tubes.

PLEASE...PID should be treated as soon as it is detected and treated properly!!!

Adopting good sxxxual practices is also in your best interest.
