Just following up on the eVisa process—I was able to complete it successfully. The reason I couldn't scan the chip on my passport initially is that mine is an older version (passport number starts with "A", which doesn't have one. I have to select the option for "passport without a chip," and that worked perfectly. All that's left is to use the UK Immigration: ID Check app to scan my passport, complete the facial verification, and submit. The identity verification typically takes about 3 hours to process and finalize. But If your passport number starts with "B," the chip is embedded near the coat of arms or the front cover. I hope this helps.

Did you scan the coats of arm at the back of your passport?After you scan your datapage?

After signing in, was this the first page that displayed? And on clicking start, it displayed the second pic i sent abi? Asking because am yet to receive any mail as far as my decision is concerned but i went on to create an account and it's showing this link page. I it's the same as yours, that means mine has been approved

Yes, the coat of arm is at the back and thats where the chip is. Place it there and slowly move your phone around the coat of arm. It will capture. And quick one, when you created your ukvi account and signed in, what was the first thing you saw, was is the link e-visa to account and the start page?

Thanks! This is what it shows and after clicking passport and input other info it shows ID verification in progress and that’s where I need to upload datapage of my passport and the chip. Also, someone suggested I should higher iPhone because I’m using iPhone 8 with iOS version 16.7

Check youtube videos on how to link your passport. If you're using an iPhone, your nfc is around your camera. Make sure you put it on your passport. If you're using an android, it is at the center of the back of your phone. Just make sure it touches the passport(where the coat of arm is). Youtube is your sure bet

one more question please. The coat of arm is at the back of passport. I have been placing camera at the front page of the passport where they chip is located.

Good evening, please guys I need help linking my evisa. I’m stuck at Id verification stage. I was able to scan my datapage but when it gets to next stage for passport chip I can’t proceed because I don’t know why it’s not reading it or is there a way I must placed it? i have been locked out for 24hrs on the app. Somebody should put me through because I have to wait till 24 hrs before I can have access it the page again.
