I have been making some money designing website using wordpress theme

But i decided to learn WordPress development.

This is my journey.

First i learned how to install wordpress locally using xamp

I learned how to create a theme with just index.php

I decided to toll this path because of

tensazangetsu20 advice on niching down

And gtguru video tutorial on WordPress theme development

you'll also need to create the following files for a start.

1. header.php
this is where you put your html head and menu. You'll include it with 'get_header' function

2. footer.php
this is similar to header.php. you'll put all the footer part here. use 'get_footer'

3. functions.php
this file is will contain all the logic & settings of the theme. It's like a plugin for the theme

4. page.php
This one will be used for displaying pages

5. archive.php
This will be used for displaying collection of posts

6. single.php
This will be used for single post
