God is not interested in just the physical wealth of a church, but mainly interested in the spiritual wealth of the church. Before heaven, the truly rich church is the one that forms Christ in men. The Bible says that God dwells in a high and a holy place, but he also dwells with them who are lowly and contrite in heart to revive the heart of the contrite and to restore the spirit of the lowly. What that means is that God, the creator of heaven and earth is also seeking accommodation in the lives (hearts) of men. The truly rich church is the one that build men and women that accommodate Christ in their hearts. That;s why Ephesians say, In your heart, set Christ apart as Lord. The currency of heaven isn't naira, dollar or pound. The currency of heaven is the Man, Jesus. How much he is Lord over a church is how Rich that church is. How much he is Lord over a man is how truly rich that man is. |
