DISPATCH RIDER

Job Summary
Garmspot requires a dispatch rider to move documents and small to medium packages between the organization’s locations and its customers. The dispatch rider shall deliver items to customers by verifying orders and making the delivery. The rider will be responsible for city-wide deliveries, sending and collecting of documents, materials, packages and other items as needed. The rider would be responsible for ensuring that the assigned motorcycle is used for authorised assignments and is in good working condition always.


Roles and Responsibilities:
RIde Garmspot’s motorcycle to complete official duties.
Responsible for contacting customers to verify delivery addresses.
Must observe all health and safety driving related policies to ensure the consistent safety of documents and the motorcycle.
Responsible for carrying out the daily inspection on the general condition of the assigned motorcycle; and must properly lock the motorcycle when there is a need to leave them unattended to.
Must ensure that the motorcycle is cleaned routinely or when the need arises.
Report all matters relating to the assigned motorcycle to the supervisor.
Facilitate the delivery of Garmspot items to its customer; between the Headquarters and retail/other locations as required.
Dispatch riders sign for the package when collected and get an appropriate person to sign for it upon delivery.
Responsible for updating the drivers’ logbook on a daily basis with the required information.
Must ensure that assigned motorcycle documents/particulars are updated and valid.
Internal and external document distribution when necessary.
Record information, such as items received and delivered.
Plan and follow the most efficient routes for making deliveries.
Ensure proper and efficient use of company tools.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.



Required Skills and Competencies:
A minimum of Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
Proven experience as a dispatch rider or relevant position.
Must possess a valid riders’ permit.
Familiarity with relevant routes.
Must enjoy motorcycling and be a skilled rider.
