Good day guys, I'm a novice in programming but I want to learn everything through self thought.

Pls recommend the best laptop that isn't too costly but can serve me well.

Pls help a brother

Well the first question you should ask and decided for yourself is the aspect or the type of developer you want to be. It could be any of the following ;

Software developer
Mobile app developer
Web developer
Back-end developer
Front-end developer
Full-stack developer
Game developer
Big data developer
Customer relationship management (CRM) developer.

Your decision should inform the kind of laptop you'd be needing.

This one you are saying software development, you need something a little bit more than that. You'd be needing a laptop with at least 2 dedicated memory if I am not mistaken.

My advice, don't be quick to get a laptop, first of all research and know the area of programming you'd want to venture into. If it is front end, back end or both(full stack) dev and minor mobile app dev, then that laptop would serve you.

But if you are going into software development, advanced mobile app dev, game development you need something more.

This would do for a start. With time you can upgrade to something better. Or if you have the means, just get a gaming laptop with 4gb dedicated graphics card.
