Types of Characters
There are many types of characters, such as, eponymous characters, round and flat characters, major and minor characters, antiheroes, archetypal characters etc.

Eponymous Character: This is the character whose name is also the title of the story: play, novel etc. Example: Othello in Shakespeare's play titled Othello

Flat Character: The unique characteristics of a flat character is predictability. A flat character does not have development in the course of the story. His or her actions do not undergo change and the audience surely knows the next move of his or her actions. Static character, stock character and stereotyped character are synonymous to flat character.

Round Character: This is a character that undergoes a lot of change in the course of a story. S/he is unpredictable as his/her next line of actions are difficult to unravel by the audience. Round characters have build ups just like people in real sense and they experience growth in their lives just like human beings.
