Jst started learning jquery and found my scripts not running on firefox. Any advice?

Don't assume ppl are witches or magicians who can automatically determine your problem and proffer a solution. Always post your non-working code and if possible, a screenshot so that ppl can help you accordingly.

Maybe he has switched off javascript in the browser.

have heard somewhere that jquery can work without javascript. is that true?

I concur, yawatide was not rude - your question aint clear at all. I just remembered i once made that mistake too - once while testing out server sided form validation.
But in reality, i had once written a script that uses jquery and it worked in all browsers except Firefox - it was a mistake from my own end - and i killed the bug later on - took me awhile, because i normally develop with firebug.
And like pc guru said, jQuery is a javascript library - so it is still javascript.

I wasn't rude so, no apologies. 2 others have attested to that. What you did is equivalent to your car breaking down and knowing how it broke down, you take it to a mechanic without explanation and expect the mechanic to automatically figure out the correct problem and fix it.

Advice for the future:
When asking ppl to help solve a problem for you with respect to code, respect their time (which they are offering for free) by providing code snippets. Saying what you said in your original post isn't enough. Sure, I didn't have to respond but hey, I did. Deal with it.

Based on what dhtml said and the fact that you concurred tells me that you knew exactly what you did. This is an error by commission and it would have been nice if you stated up front that the scripts stopped working after you disabled javascript. Anyways, I guess the good thing is that you now know that jquery is javascript but javascript isn't jquery.
