THE LORD JESUS IS OUR HIGH PRIEST AND THE ONLY PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS

Under the Old Covenant (Mosaic) Covenant, a man (High Priest) would present a sacrifice (lamb/bull) etc before The Lord to atone for the sins of God's children.

This method of atonement was abolished after Jesus' death and RESURRECTION. The old covenant was abolished for the new. Under the new Covenant, The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is our High Priest unlike under the old where sinful mortals were made high priests; these Mosaic high priests had to first atone for their owns sins before they would for the children. Glory be to God that our High Priest, even The Lord Jesus is without sin.

Again, under the old covenant, an animal had to be killed for the atonement of sins of the people. For without the shedding of blood, there cannot be atonement of sins (Hebrews 9:22). Under the new Covenant, The Lord Jesus Himself is the lamb who Is slaughtered for our sins. He purchased us with His own blood.😭

So you see, He Himself is The High Priest and The lamb, unlike under the old where we had a human high priest and an animal for atonement.

Under the old, a human high priest presents the slain lamb (blood) to God; under the new Covenant, The Lord Jesus is that High Priest who presents Himself (His body) to God (Himself). Without a perfect High Priest, there can be no atonement. Without a perfect lamb (blood) there can be no atonement. Jesus is That perfect High Priest and the perfect lamb to atone for our sins. He is all in all. He is High Priest, Lamb and God! The great mystery🔥

Hebrews 2:17-18
[17]Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
[18]For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Revelation 22:1,3-4
[1]And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
[3]And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
[4]They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
