^he's telling you the home truth. One shouldn't get irritated because one's result didn't put him/her in the range.
Re: ...... by Obinoscopy(m): 12:21am On Sep 18, 2011
You guys should give syenite a break. You are arguing blindly with him without facts, that is bound to make him irritated.

Imagine someone who's a novice coming out to argue with me on my company, I'll definately get irritated although as a perfect gentleman I'll keep my cool. Thus Syenite please take it easy, its obvious that they are ignorant.

Thanks Obinoscopy and Jackpot. I am not angry in any way, for what? It's just that I am trying to clear the air so that those that still have the opportunity to study and make very good grades can still do so, so they don't fall into the category of those that will want to console themselves with assumptions and falls believes. cool cool

I sincerely overlook grammatical and spelling errors in people but just to show you how imperfect and limited knowledge you have. Stay positive Sir. You want facts on staff with 2.2 in NNPC you'l have it but not from me.
I reiterate once again that with a 2.2 cert. people are employed legally in NNPC.
Re: ...... by Syenite(m): 1:56pm On Sep 18, 2011
^^ Thanks for pointing out the mistake. 'False' I meant.
Ok o Odunnu carry go. Make I waka pass. 2:2, 3:3 & even 4:4 work with NNPC. grin grin grin
Re: ...... by Odunnu: 2:00pm On Sep 18, 2011
lol. Changing it to 'false' still wouldnt give you your full mark. You'v got to touch the 'believes' also.
Happy sunday

Re: ...... by Plutarch: 2:37pm On Sep 18, 2011
@odunnu,
U r quite right ma that 2:2 pple r working @ nnpc. Infact they still employ them as experienced hires n contract staff, however not thru their Graduate Trainee scheme. You must hv a first class or 2:1 to get recruited as a fresh grad into d basic entry level postion just like in most MNCs n organistn. Thatz what Syenite is trying to put straight.

Thatz just d rude truth. BTW,r u a student/graduate of English?
Re: ...... by Icon4s(m): 7:15pm On Sep 18, 2011
^^ you can't be more right.

@Odunnu, those pple u think that had 2:2 (1st degree) were probably employed as GTs in or b4 2005, were employed as experienced hires, are contract staff or were contract staff that got converted to permanent staff. Right from the 2006 recruitment the requirement has been a 1st class or 2nd class Upper for GTs and Upper Credit for Operators and Technicians.

@poster try and find out the position or category your family friend is helping you with. You can at best enter as a contract staff and if you are lucky can be converted after a few years. NO COURSE IS USELESS IN THIS OUR NIGERIA.

Why all the beef on Seynite?
Nawa oo!
I find it amazing why some of my colleagues that made a 2:2 loose their cool every time issues like minimum of 2:1 is raised.
See how you guys all lost your brain and refused to understand Seynite's explanation just because it is hitting 'us'.
The last time I saw a 1st class rejected by a bank and reason was that he should better go to the classroom where he belong. All my clique(2:2 graduates) were so happy and asking the 1st class what he came to do in a bank or any industry at that.
Why don't we accept our fate and work on it? I must have made a 2:2 but I am not doing badly on the average when compared to the 1sts and 2:1s.

A colleague just told me that the advice he has for his siblings is to enter into any school and ensure they make atleast a 2:1.Reason is, in a competitive market, rules as we have it in NNPC must exist and you may stay there arguing how your 3rd class degree frm Harvard is better than a 1st class in LASU and no one cares.
Gone are the days when banks and coys were asking for graduates of UNN,UI,OAU,UNILAG,ABU.I remember when we went to Accenture way back to submit CVs and we were told they accept 2:1 and !st class from federal universities alone. My guys were all cursing and telling the lady that some of us are smarter than those 2:1s and 1sts.The lady courteously and calmly said "I am sorry about that, but that is the policy here".They must have changed by now. These days it is 2:1 and above irrespective of the university. Let us learn if we are to earn a living by working for some time.
I have advised myself far back.
