Lagos is no man's land. There will never be a time when Lagos will become a Yoruba land. This is not to spite the Yoruba tribe, but based on history evidences. The Yorubas will every 4 years fight democratic processes and bribe democratic umpires for the basic will of imposing a pro-yoruba governor but someday, in this generation, a pro-globalization, pro-civilization Governor will emerge and when that happens, it is will difficult for the existing tribal mafioso to have access to State Power again. I know Lagos to be a cosmopolitan city where everyone is free to fly their colors, and the Yorubas will continue to amplify their tribal weakness which now has exposed their own tribesmen in non-yoruba states to acrimonies. As for me, though not an Igbo, I will be careful dealing with an average Yoruba because I had expected education to sanitise minds such as the so called Political Elites who have now been exposed as closet tribalists. Lagos will always be no man's land. |
