Hello, i would like to know what qualifies one to be a System Analyst? What certification can help one to become a successful analyst? Does the Nigerian IT Industry favor System Analyst? What organizations can one work as a System Analyst? Thanks

You ask A lot of Question in which you yourself Could answer.

If you can get a Book on Introduction to System Analysis you will make a career on that.
BTW if your are a computer Science Student (or BSc or BTech) you should have done that in your Year Two Course; Introduction to System Analysis

What qualifies one to be a System Analyst?
*Your Certificate: i think PGD or Master in computer Science should Carry That along

What certification can help one to become a successful analyst?

* Study: Management Information System/ System Analysis after your BSc or BTech in Computer Sci.

Does the Nigerian IT Industry favor System Analyst?
* Yes you can get employed in any Institution that deals with Information Technology (IT) eg INEC, BANKs, SCHOOLS etc

What organizations can one work as a System Analyst?

* once again any Institution that deals Information Technology (IT) eg INEC, BANKs, SCHOOLS etc

If you want to start off with System Analysis then you could try Object Oriented Systems Analysis and Design Using UML by SImon Bennett, Steve McRobb and Ray Farmer. You would also want to get the Unified Modelling Language User Guide/Reference
