I WANNA LEARN A PRAGRAMMING LANGUAGE AND SOMEONE SUGGESTED I START WITH VISUAL BASIC BECAUSE ITS EASY AND INTRESTING,BUT EVERY TIME I TRY TO INSTALL ANY OF THE VB SOFTWARE IT EITHER GIVES ME ONE ERROR OR THE OTHER AND CANCELS D INSTALATION ,PLS I WANNA KNOW IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE BOUT IT.AND IF U HAVE ANY FREE E-BOOKS ON THE SUBJECT IT WOULD RILY BE APPRECIATED.

how do i do it cus i tried it and it said "setup was unable to copy d file visualstudio2008\vstudio\LocDAta to your temporary directory. please make sure that the file exists and rerun setup."

what do ypu think is the problem?

Before I started programming with Visual BASIC 2010, I was working with VB 6 and till date it's still on my laptop. And yes I am running Windows 7. When I was go school I installed this same VB 6 on Windows XP& Vista. Maybe it's your Installation disc, or CD ROM DRIVE or even the installation files that are faulty. My advice is get another Installation CD.

It seems to me that this is a Permissions issue
1: Run the Setup under Administrator Profile
2: If the Directory Exists, Check the Permissions/Security and ensure that Installer Service Account has full permissions to that folder

I have it on 2008 Server Enterprise working smoothly

1) it may be from the installation cd or file, maybe it is corrupted try a different setup.
2) wich edition of Windows7 are you using. starter editions usually have problems wich visual studio
