Not really the act of withdrawal that is a sin if sex is done in the right context (between married couple) but he did his own wickedly to ensure his brother doesn't have offspring in his name. It was his intention that provoked God.

This is out of contest OP, if pull out as a whole is a sin then contraceptives of every of its kind is a sin too.

Well, some people/you may think that this story means that the pull-out method is a sin to god, but that is not the case. The reason why Onan was punished was not because of the method he used, but because of his selfish and disobedient attitude. He violated the levirate law, which was meant to protect the widow and the family line of his brother. He also showed contempt for god's plan and purpose for marriage and procreation(bible). The pull-out method itself is not mentioned or condemned anywhere else in the Bible, and it can be used as a form of birth control by couples who are not trying to conceive.

OP. You have taken it out of context. His responsibility was to give his late brother children so that his name doesn't die. whose wickedness to his wife made God give him a quick exit. If he would not get her pregnant why sleep with her? He was taking advantage of her by refusing to do what the father had asked, because the children will not be his.

With Married couples now, most every sex lead to having a baby? Because una for reach like 45 for una family if your folks don't practice one form of birth control or the other. Withdrawal is the safest and surest then contraceptives barriers. Pills have side effects if used for a prolonged period, and some evasive techniques like implant and IUD are sometimes too tedious. Abbbiii you want dey do abortion every 3 months.
