Why Am I Here?

Throughout my teenage years I pondered that question. What is the purpose of anything?

We are born, we go to school, get jobs, work hard, take care of ourselves and others, then die after a while.

At one point, I felt like I was losing my mind. I would work, spend money on consumables, become broke, work again, and repeat the whole process. Is that what life is all about? Working and consuming? Surely there has to be more to it.

Unfortunately, like many young adults new at the university, I had a brief stint with alcohol and weed. My friends and I would get high and have 'intellectual discussions' at night under the stars, or we would listen to American Pop music. We were young, dumb and free after all.

Then I dropped out of school. I couldn't focus on bookwork and 'school na scam sef', so who gives a damn? Mark Zukerberg and Bill Gates dropped out of school anyway, yet they are billionaires today.

Foolish girl.

I moved to a new state and tried to rebuild my life. I entered a new school, and even went to church once. But I still smoked and drank.

And that one time, I had gone to church to socialize with new people, but I lost interest when the pastor asked for donations for an upcoming program; why do all these men of God always ask for money sef?

Plus how can someone be so focused and passionate about Heaven and an afterlife, when there are big problems to worry about in this life anyway? Problems like making enough money, eating a balanced diet, and exercising?

You won't believe how obsessed I was with eating enough nutrients and drinking enough water to have beautiful skin; boiling carrots to make the beta-carotene more effective in making my skin evenly toned, eating oranges for the antioxidants therein to slow down my aging process, and consuming more proteins than carbohydrates. Not to mention doing squats and lunges to make my bum look sexier.

Gosh! So many important things to think about, and yet here's a 23-year-old student evangelist telling me that Jesus loves me and I should come to his church. I don't get it. Do you have a crush on me? Is this your own method of picking up chicks?

Foolish girl!

Don't you know you're just fattening yourself up for the worms? Don't you know that you've lived in sin for too long and God, in his infinite mercy, has once again sent another one of his disciples to tell you the Truth?

But no! Once again, you try to be logical. You try to rationalize everything. The sick man you heard about wasn't really healed; it was just the placebo effect that took place. The poor woman who received financial assistance after praying just got lucky. Why won't someone give her money when she acts like someone who is always suffering?!

You're so stubborn and have a stony heart.
Matthew 13:15 KJV
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

You're so blind to the truth.
Isaiah 44:18 KJV
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

You're standing in your own grave, but you don't even realize it.
Psalm 107:18 KJV
Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

You're battling with addiction, masturbation, sex, frustration, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, suicidal ideation, and yet you won't ask Him for help!!

He keeps sending his disciples to you, but you're either too blind to notice or too foolish to admit that he's the only reason you haven't died yet. You think you will somehow develop discipline on your own and figure out a way to succeed.
Isaiah 59:1 KJV
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

He says :"come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light ( Matthew 11:28-30 KJV).

He's just waiting and wondering why you would rather die and suffer in your next life, instead of enjoying paradise with Him. Or do you really think death is the end? That you have no soul? That your consciousness will cease to exist when your body stops working?

Your consciousness is energy, and according to the first law of thermodynamics, energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It only changes form.
John 1:3 KJV
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

He is the Source and you are a representation of Him for goodness sake! How dare you ruin the flesh suit that he has lent you? The vessel that he created to house his Holy Spirit?

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Your soul/consciousness/energy will go somewhere when your body stops working. What do you think will happen when He sees the stains you're gathering presently?
Matthew 7:23 KJV
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

You need Jesus my dear, otherwise you won't amount to anything in this life, and you'll be damned in the next.
Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

My dear, He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV). All you have to do is call upon him and He will answer you.

But wait. Why are we here though?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Examine your life. Whether you want to accept it or not, the day of reckoning is coming. You will reap the rewards for all your deeds in both this life and in the next.

I know you think that you can't do it, but I promise that with Christ, life is incredible. The truth is everywhere. If you wait untill karma hits you, you'll hate yourself.

There are forces in this world beyond your ken.

Dear person reading this, what are you struggling with? What's that habit you just wish you can stop?

Psalm 145:18-20 KJV
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. [19] He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. [20] The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

He's just waiting for you to ask Him for help.
