I rearly comment on this section because lots of Nigerians hardly behave normal. Every reprogramming language is good provided you optimise your code and follow good coding practices. I developed a SAAS platform using php with c#.
The system as being working perfectly without any glitch even though it took me 3 years to develop the system it really worth it.

Be good at any language of your choice and develop SAAS platform targetting international clients instead of being slave they now call freelancers.

Decided I will learn programming and write my own game to play. And 30 years after, money still isn't the motivation

It’s not what I tell myself. It's a fact for me. I studied Computer Science as a first degree. But for years I worked in Supply Chain using my computing skills to drive demand and production planning. And while doing that, I had a homelab where I messed about with a lot of software. Spending a lot of money buying hardware for the lab for the fun of it. Family thought I was crazy spending almost all my income on a hobby. My motivation was and never is money. I like that my computing knowledge enables me earn more. But if you take out the pay, I would still continue doing what I do.

So first of, Success is not synonymous with money. And no, if a job with twice as much money comes, I would not jump at it if I don't enjoy it. I got an offer at a US company that develops CMS with a 40% pay bump. HTML, CSS and Javascript and all. Stuff I don't enjoy even though I can do it if I have to. Politely turned down the offer and told them Id be happy to work for them in a different role more aligned with what I do. So yes I'm happy to switch employers for better pay, but it has to be something I love doing.

This doesn't mean anything. What this infographic shows is popular technologies used at high paying companies.

Take for example OCamL, a huge reason why it's on this list is Jane Street and Bloomberg. Unfortunately, 90% of devs will not stand to gain much from learning a niche language like OCaml. It would be an obvious waste of time and it shows why these "highest paid language lists" are pointless.
