Let your profile be known for SOMETHING!

The very first step in building a reputable and profitable social media profile is "finding your niche."

If you miss this step, you can become utterly frustrated along the way.

Finding your niche is essentially finding your target audience—people whom you will consistently feed.

Most people's profiles are filled with random content (values). It's good, but that wouldn't yield positive results in the long run.
Random values are the surest way to become utterly frustrated when trying to grow a social media audience.

Find a particular topic (niche); this can be your area of expertise—what you know or know how to do—and start creating your content revolving around that topic. Be consistent, and let it be value-based.

Don't try to meet the needs of an entire or general market because you can't. Find your niche, and you will find your tribe. Focus on them mostly; it will pay off if you don't give up.
