The Baffling Case Of The D.B. Cooper Hijacking by Truestoryelvis(op): 10:04am On Feb 23, 2024
"The mysterious story of the D.B. Cooper hijacking has been a source of fascination for decades. In 1971, a man calling himself Dan Cooper (later mistakenly identified as D.B. Cooper) hijacked a plane and parachuted out with $200,000 in ransom money. He was never seen or heard from again. The case has been the subject of countless books, movies, and conspiracy theories, and it remains unsolved to this day.

"Despite the extensive media coverage and speculation surrounding the case, there are still many unanswered questions about what happened to D.B. Cooper. One of the most puzzling aspects of the case is that there has never been any conclusive evidence linking anyone to the crime. There are many theories about who D.B. Cooper really was, but none of them have been definitively proven. The lack of answers has only added to the mystique of the case, making it one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries of all time.

The legend of D. B. Cooper has assumed mythical proportions over the five decades since the man parachuted out the back of the Boeing 727 passenger jet he had hijacked for ransom. Mr. Cooper was carrying two huge bags full of cash, and he vanished without a trace in the Washington State alpine wilderness.

D.B Cooper might be alive, or dead, and NOBODY knows the truth about his fate or destiny.

one thing I know is that the money was never spent, since they were marked and after the incident, federal authorities announced the search for those marked notes

The odds lean in favor of D.B. Cooper having died in that forest where he landed after his daring parachute jump in the dead of night. Quite recently a family was hiking along the shores of a remote river in the forests of Washington State, when a decaying pile of cash with serial numbers traced to D.B. Cooper's ransom cash, was found poking out of the sand along the river's gravelly flood plain, suggesting that the man and the cash never got out of that wilderness that night or thereafter.

All that risk and you end up not spending it

Criminals think differently than law-abiding citizens. Criminals minimize the risk of jail or death, and think only of the reward if they pull it off.

Demanded ransom money and a parachute .

Assumed that the FBI will give him a real parachute .

He plunged to his death without the parachute working.

The Feds should have placed a transponder in the bag they used to supply the money or parachute .

D.B. Cooper was as stupid as they come.

he requested 2 front and 2 back parachutes to Create impression he wasnt leaving alone, taking an hostage with him. This would stop government from presenting fake chutes

Whatever the case , the parachutes obviously never deployed.

Quite to the contrary, D.B. Cooper displayed a thorough working knowledge of aviation and flight deck protocol, as evidenced when he passed written instructions to the Boeing 727 pilot not only specifying airspeed and altitude but also incremental flap settings as his designated drop zone was approached, including a notable demand that the landing gear was to be lowered to create further slowing aerodynamic drag on the airframe as the master criminal made ready to bail out that back door over that remote forest in Washington state.

Speculation was rife for years that D.B. Cooper was a disgruntled Viet-Nam-era helicopter pilot whose adjustment to civilian life took a wrong turn towards the dark side. Several movies have been made about this epic crime of air piracy and robbery, but nothing definitive has ever emerged about the man's identity or his ultimate fate. For all we know, D. B. Cooper might be living out his golden years watering the lawn of his modest condominium somewhere along America's sun belt, and smiling wryly to himself once in a while when another rumor about his exploits emerges along the relentlessly moving conveyor belt of social media.
