Good morning NL family.
Please I need help here .. there's this asset leasing company here in Lagos that assigned bike to me last year September on hire purchase basis. So far, I have remitted 37,000 naira for 29 weeks plus security deposit of 30,000 totalling 1,103,000 naira.
My major challenge now is I was to travel on 16/04/2024 and I parked the said bike on 14/04/2024 (in their office) which is company's policy . Coming back this Monday to take my bike I was shocked to see the bike I parked in good condition was partially burnt and the company claimed it was an accident. I was assured the bike would be fixed but from that Monday till Thursday when I didn't hear from them, I went to the office to inquire and I was told the parts to be fixed is not available in the market at the moment ! . It was at this point i made them to understand that my bills are pilling up that they should act fast or better still if they can give me another bike pending when the Burnt one is fixed .... they asked me to go that I will be notified once it's fixed
But the what's app message I got from the company that same night I left there got me troubled and diverstated" sorry my team have terminated your contract" ...the meaning of this is ( a) I will forfiet the bike to the company (b) the 1,103000 naira I have remitted will also be forfieted.
Is as a result of this plight that I need advice on what to do . I can't afford the luxury of hiring a lawyer , I don't have any body to take up this case against the company that want to defrud me , am just a Dispatch Rider trying hard to put food on the table for my family .
.....the contract was to elapse at the end of 64 weeks i.e 64* 37, 000=2.368000 but I have remitted for 29 weeks till this moment plus security deposit of 30k ...so far,1.103,000 have been remitted ....am depressed, suicidal don't know where to start from in this hasrh economy , my rent is due ......so much financial responsibility steering at me, if not for storm of life in my early 40s am still riding bike on hire purchase , but I carry my cross with delight not knowing a heavy blow like this is still waiting for me .....am at the Cross roads . Please I need help .
