Our fuel is thick that's while oyibo wan die for our pms, but some country like China like it light cos it make their machines work faster

That colour has nothing to do with adulteration or octane rating

It called "dye-ing".

That colour is just to differentiate it from water or kerosene. Petrol is colourless but it's dyed so that you know that it is petrol and not water.

It is similar to the cooking gas (LPG) smell you perceive at home. Normally, LPG is odourless but it's odourized with mercaptan for you to identify when it's leaking.

This is usually done so you can know if you are buying smuggled fuel, not just petrol even diesel is coloured.

Different sources, refining processes, containers, storage, etc.

Am not sure it's adulterated , cos we have different types of petrol -
* Leaded
* Unleaded

I am wondering because all petrol in Nigeria right now is single sourced from nnpc. One would expect it has the same colour. Though maybe individual marketers are colouring for easy identification

The color of petrol is not affecting anything it depend on the purpose product it don't mean anything bad

Petrol is colourless before it enters d country....its d tank farm that received d product that adds colour so it can be distinguished frm water in a container.Also LPG gas is odourless bt odour is added to it to giv d smell u perceive.
