I was living a life of gambling since January before I quit coz I realized that a life of gambling is a life of constant lack,
ma'am I'm currently working though.
Why I'm in a mess is because I recently sent cash home.

My current plan is to save up to learn how to drive.

I'm currently in Lagos but my parents are in the village

Right now I'm a cumpulsive gambler.

Where I currently work, the pay is 65k.
Since March myself and my colleague are doing 30k monthly contribution & we are six in numbers.

Next week is salary pay day which is 65k + 150k(contribution money) since it is my turn to pack but I'm scared coz Gambling has taken charge of my entire being.

Please how do I make judicious use of the fund coz deep down u know that gambling will take some percentage of the money and I'm a kind of person that hates loosing money.
Should Gambling take a part from it I might ended up giving the entire money to them.

Please what should I do to avoid such disaster from happening?

I think you should open an account now and save the money there, don't collect 🏧 card and don't download the app

By so doing, you will not be able to access the money easily

I'm really amazed that you you're able to use 30k as a monthly contribution out of 65k. I'm really surprised.

Just have a mindset that gambling is bad and it's going to take all your money away. That will you'll be conscious and sacred of wasting your hard earned money.

From my end, things are pretty tough and I'll be glad if I can get 2k from you so I can use as my transport fare before I get my wages.

However, my only concern is the value of that N150k ($93) in few weeks from now due to the high inflation. I understand the guy needs to cultivate the habit of saving, but saving in Naira is something I don't usually recommend. Please I'm not trying to discourage the young man from saving, saving is very good. The day the N10m (about $50,000 @N200/dollar) I kept in money market turned to $20,000 ($20,000), I knew it was a foolish idea keeping money in Naira. Today, that N10million is now $6,200 (N1,613/$) from the initial $50,000 in 2014. I forecast this to drop further to $5,500.

As for the value of Naira, so far we can't grow our own economy to raise the value of Naira, it will keep failing till it stops failing

Then our good friend who is trying to learn how to save shouldn't focus on the value of Naira, but he should focus on the ability to maintain the standards of saving money which involves denial of some certain pleasures of life

By the time he saves a certain amount, he will have the sense of how to invest it

But the major thing is to cultivate the habit of savings

If I should use myself as a case study, then am going to inspire some people

At an early stage, I started cutting myself of from things that creates cost for me as a spinster then and as a married woman now

So saving is a good way of life because I deprived myself that fun so that I can save and plan for these days

Now am reaping from it because I planned early

Some of my friends who failed to plan along with me, are now Planning while am resting for all I have planned earlier
