What makes you think your edited code will compile? What makes you think it is up to the required standards of modification required by app store to prevent duplication of apps? Cuz if it is open source then certainly several other people have similar apps on app store, when a developer compiles a code today, software changes and dependency upgrades could mean that even the developer may face issues compiling the same source code in two weeks times.
On evanto, even most developer end up abandoning their app products so, even compiling no be beans.
