Armyworms are just caterpillars, but don't be fooled by their small size—they can destroy entire maize farms in no time. As they feed on your maize plants, they grow bigger and become even more dangerous. When your maize starts fruiting, these pests move into the cobs and can ruin every single seed. There are organic and chemical ways to deal with armyworms. Here, I'll focus on the chemical method. To protect your crops, you can use either ®Best or ®Cyperforce, both of which contain Cypermethrin. Mix 3 capfuls into a 16-litre knapsack sprayer. Spraying Tips: - Spray early in the morning. - Focus on the maize funnel (the part where leaves form a spiral). Why spray in the morning? During the day, the pests crawl out of the maize, so spraying then would be a waste of time and money. Important Reminder: Use chemicals responsibly and always follow the recommended waiting period before harvesting. If you're unsure about how to use them, it's better not to use them at all.

Another good insecticide is Emmamectin benzoate (caterpillarforce). It is best to spray in the evening bc they feed at night |
