Dear Travel Experts, I trust you are doing well. Given the current situation in the country, I find it necessary to rethink my plans and would greatly appreciate your advice. I am currently a second-year undergraduate student, and up until now, my goal has been to complete my degree and then pursue a master’s program abroad. However, recent developments indicate that things may become more challenging before I am ready to leave. I have a few questions and would appreciate your guidance: 1. Besides a study visa, what other visa options are available for someone with tech work experience who wishes to work abroad? 2. Is the UK a viable option for this path, considering I can continue my studies remotely from anywhere? Your insights would be highly valued, and I look forward to your recommendations. Regards. If you are in second year of university and have tech experience you should take advantage of your undergrad to find internships in big tech companies abroad, that's the only advantage being in school gives you. Once you leave the university environment it becomes almost impossible. These companies can sponsor you if you do well as an intern. |

AbamOnyerubi:There would always be the standard work visa path regardless of immigration policies. It would only get tighter and stricter. Also, I strongly advise you gauge your interest in why you want to work abroad. That is, why do you want to live abroad in the meantime? What could be the alternatives to that? 2. Is the UK a viable option for this path, considering I can continue my studies remotely from anywhere? No idea. Better ask those living in the UK their experiences and what they think of the job market for foreign tech job seekers. |

tensazangetsu20:Thanks for your advice, I’ll look into this. Just that this opportunity is not always available, especially for those in Nigeria. |

Gerrard59:There are several reasons why I want to relocate, but the most important ones are: 1. Better job opportunities. 2. Improved quality of life. These are just a few, and the list could go on. Currently, I don’t have any close friends living in the UK. Thank you for your suggestions. |
