Yom Kippur means day of atonement in Judaism. Today is actually the holiest day in Jewish calender. The day the high priest goes into the holy of holies with the blood of the sacrificial animal to atone the sons of the nation of Israel. It actually started on the evening (called erev) of yesterday. Its marked by fasting for 25 hours, prayers in holy convocation. Etc Now there are sects in Judaism that believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ and they believe that His blood has atoned for their sins. They are called Messianic Jews.
