- Pledges to Open Doors for young people to be entrusted with leadership positions


Ten days after his inauguration as Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Mr. Kufre Umoren turned to God for guidance in a solemn assembly held at the Council Secretariat on Wednesday, 17th October, 2024.

The event, themed "A New Beginning," brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures, and youths to seek divine direction for his administration's next three years.

The solemn Assembly with Theme “A New Beginning” fell under the powerful ministration of Rev. Ntia Ntia, senior pastor of Full Life Christian church.

In his speech, Umoren stated that he is inviting God to superintend over the affairs of the local government having been very conscious of the burden of expectation and the huge responsibility that has been placed on his shoulders.

“I am very conscious of the burden of expectation and the huge responsibility that has been placed on my shoulders. It is for this reason that we decided to put together this event”

The Council Chairman pledged to draw inspiration from the Arise Agenda and align with Governor Umo Eno's leadership to make ONNA a model of development.

“I will take a lot of inspiration from the Arise Agenda and we will work under the leadership of His Excellency the Governor, to ensure that Onna Local Government Area becomes a model for multi-sectoral development in not too long a time”.

Umoren, while saying he is reporting to duty declared a new beginning for the local government “it is a new beginning of love, a new beginning of prosperity, a new beginning of teamwork and positive results, and a new beginning of rapid development of the Local Government Area”. -he said

Expressing gratitude, Umoren thanked Governor Umo Eno and former Governor Udom Emmanuel for their support, promising to instill leadership that will be a door opener for young people to be entrusted with leadership positions.

In his goodwill message, the BoT member of the PDP, Otuekong Pat Ifon, said ONNA people will collaborate with the Kufre Umoren led administration so that they can all succeed together.

“It is our intention to support you to succeed. Your success will be our success"

A former House of Representative member and HSA to the Governor on Agriculture, Mrs. Owoideghe Ekpoattai, in her goodwill message urged constituents to support the Kufre Umoren led administration and should criticize constructively if necessary.

Ministering on the topic “The Blessing of the New Beginning” Rev. Ntia Ntia, noted that why ONNA Local Government through the Executive chairman is having the solemn assembly to let God know that this is a new beginning"

Rev. Ntia Ntia concluded the event by affirming that ONNA's decision to dedicate its leadership to God would pave the way for success under Umoren's guidance.
