Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Distributes Subsidized Farm Inputs to Farmers in Niger State for the 2024 Wet Season.

In a significant step to boost agricultural productivity, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in partnership with Taj Logistics Ltd, has commenced the distribution of farm inputs under the 2024 Wet Season programme. The inputs distribution, which includes seeds, fertilizers & agrochemicals are part of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme and Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP).

The flag-off ceremony took place at the Redemption Center in Mokwa, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, North Central Nigeria. The Chairman of Taj Logistics Ltd, Mr Saleh Kabiru led the distribution and expressed satisfaction with the progress so far, noting that all farmers have received their inputs at the center.

Mr Saleh emphasized that the inputs are made available at subsidized rates, ensuring affordability and accessibility for the farmers. Speaking to Channels Television, he reaffirmed the commitment of Taj Logistics Ltd to ensuring quality farm inputs reach all eligible farmers. “We are here to ensure full compliance and that the inputs reach the farmers who deserve them. This initiative is a significant step towards achieving food security and stimulating agricultural employment".

Mr Saleh also praised the turnout and urged farmers to make the most of the opportunity, using the inputs efficiently for a bumper harvest. He warned against selling the inputs, encouraging farmers to be patient, as the full benefits will be reaped within three months of planting.

Yusuf Garba, one of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security on behalf of the farmers. He called for additional support in the upcoming dry season to further enhance agricultural production.

The 2024 Wet Season programme is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure food security in Nigeria by empowering farmers with the necessary inputs for high-yield farming.
