Like attract like and opposite oppose. This is the bedrock for food combinations.

This is the reason why you eat a full plate of garnished rice and still feel hungry after a while.
Rice, a energy giving food, will only supply your body energy, if and only if it digest first.
If your rice doesn't digest, your body don't get the energy off this carbohydrate food
If your beans dint digest, your body don't get the energy off this proteinous food
But what makes your food you eat not to digest?
Well that's because your food was improperly combined.
The various assorted ingredients you used to garnished your simple rice grain was what neutralized the energy-giving property of the rice itself.
You disregarded the rules to food combining because you did not know it.
Now that you're learning it, if you're advised to eat white rice without stew or even salting...just boil white rice and enjoy... you'll argue that it won't be sweet in your stomach
But ask yourself?
Does the stomach taste?
No it doesn't.
Your stomach only needs the nutrients off the food you're eating. It's your tongue which is interested in the taste of food.
The moment your food passes your tongue, all concerns about the taste of food drops.
So you begin to ask yourself: do I eat for my tongue and lose the nutrients off my food
Or
Do I eat for my stomach and disregard the whinings of my tongue
You answer. You can't eat your Cake and have it. You win some, you lose some.
I agree that some food combinations are unhealthy and can make you sick, however it depends on what foods are combined. This doesn't mean all food combinations are bad.

The combination of rice and beans, beans and millets or some other whole grains, added vegetables, herbs, natural spices and possibly natural extracted good oil from olive, avocado, etc can be very beneficial, energy and immune boosting.
I combine whole grains with beans or legumes. This combinations makes a complete protein and I feel more energetic after eating this combinations. I do not believe this just because some researches says so, I have experienced it for myself.
