Mushroom compost is a crucial base material in mushroom cultivation, made from a variety of raw materials through a specific fermentation process. It mainly consists of crop straw (such as wheat straw, rice straw), animal manure (like cow dung, chicken dung) and some auxiliary materials (gypsum, lime, etc.). These raw materials are mixed proportionally and then fermented in piles. During the fermentation process, microorganisms are active and they decompose the complex organic matter in the raw materials and convert them into nutrients that can be easily absorbed by the mushroom mycelium. Mushroom compost provides rich nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to guarantee the energy requirements for mushroom growth. At the same time, suitable compost can create a good physical structure, with good air permeability and water retention, creating a suitable growth environment for mushroom mycelium. High-quality mushroom compost can significantly improve the yield and quality of mushrooms and reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases. Moreover, the use of crop residues and animal manure to make compost realises the resourceful use of agricultural wastes and promotes the sustainable development of eco-agriculture. This paper describes the method of mushroom composting in detail.https://huaxinmachinery.com/how-to-make-mushroom-compost/ |
