My birthday is the second day of December. The idiot company sent me a birthday message yesterday. On further thought, I pieced together that 2/12/2025 [British standard] was flipped to 12/2/2025 [American standard]. Do they have sense at all? I remember filling the form years ago and it was indicated before input, DD/MM/YY.
might affect you in future tho

Check what is in your NIN, the mistake is there. MTN follows the format too DD/MM/YY. After the introduction of linking of Sims with NIN, no one will ask you for your date of birth. Anything you see on your Sim is what is on your NIN

Pls explain your point you're trying to make as I quoted your post for easy understanding...

The accepted date format in Nigeria is the British format of Day/Month/Year.
If you registered your SIM at an MTN office, the likelihood of this error coming from them is minimal (I know this because I trained MTN staff and agents on this for 2yrs over a decade ago), they would ask you to reconfirm the data input before upload.
If you did it by the roadside, then the margin of error increases.
Finally, the Customer is also part responsible sometimes since you're here talking about American date format.
Re: Deleted. by padi94(m): 9:29am On Feb 14, 2025
You should be crying and worried if they sent you birthday on the wrong date. You will ask why. This is because there is a bigger problem. It means the DOB on your NIN is not correct.

Dob is derived from NIN during registration if you know, you know
