Should Computer Engineering Professors Be Able To Troubleshoot A PC? by CodeTemplarr(op):
A professor in a university who teaches in the field of computer engineering, should he or she be able to troubleshoot and repair personal computers(PCs) like roadside technicians do?

A lot of people assume they should but cannot back the claim. I wonder what Nairalanders think.

There's a difference between a Computer Engineer and a technician.

While technically, he should be able to atleast understand possible issues that can cause the issue and troubleshoot said problems - Engineers build and design systems.

Most of them only teach, they don't practice engineering.

are they suppose to practice if they teach? I don't think they are suppose to.
