To me, Easter is a day to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A day to remember that as Christ resurrected, i too will be resurrected to life the very day i die.

So, I therefore do not die in the real sense.

Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

It is also a day to remember that while I'm alife, I have the sole priority to live a little better, and to add a little sunshine to the world in which I'm living.

Whether we are religious or not, I suppose moments like this allow us periods for soul-searching on a national scale, on how we have become desensitized go pain and suffering, and ethnic cleansings bothers us less than Portable and Speed Darlington squabbling.

It reinforces my belief in the resurrection of dead and life everlasting, which is the whole essence of Christianity. A belief that those who died in Christ, will rise with him. St. Paul captured it appropriately: "If Christ didn't rise from the dead, then, our faith is in vain." This is the foundation of Christianity. I had to educate my kids this morning about the very essence of Easter and to let them know that Easter is far more important than Christmas and indeed, other liturgical times in the Christian calendar.
