Do you know that before the Supergene oil palm took the center stage, NIFOR Tenera was the reigning champion of oil palm varieties in Nigeria? Tenera is a hybrid of Dura and Pisifera oil palm( from the picture below, you could see that the Pisifera has so much flesh and almost no shell while the Dura has more shell than flesh. So Tenera is a cross between thick-shelled Dura and shell-less Pisifera giving birth to a thin shelled, medium/high fleshed, high oil content Tenera.😍 Tenera is dwarfed, you start harvesting in 36 months and produces at least 18 bunch per cycle NIFOR Tenera was developed by the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR). is a high-yielding, disease-resistant, and versatile oil palm variety that was once the pride of Nigeria's oil palm industry. Why should I invest on NIFOR Tenera? 1. High Yield: NIFOR Tenera produces high-quality oil with a high yield, making it an attractive choice for farmers and processors. 2. Disease Resistance: This variety is resistant to diseases such as the oil palm bunchy top disease, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable crop. 3. Versatility: NIFOR Tenera can thrive in various environments and is suitable for small-scale and large-scale farming. How many palms do I need per plot? You need just 10-13 palms planted on a 8mx8m or 9mx9m apart Whst other crops can I intercrop with these oil palm? During its early years, you can inter crop oil palm with cassava, maize, yam and annual plants or crops, maintain a good round spacing of at least 1m or 3fts from the inte cropped plant or crop You can carry out the practice for up to 5yrs plus, Please while carrying out this, be mindful not to disturb the fronds of the palm My brethren, this is 2025, another opportunity to invest in your future and have rest at retirement. In my post on supergene oil palm, I saw some people insulting Nigeria because they heard Malaysians took their oil palm seeds from Nigeria, went home, improved on it and see where they are today? They are the highest producers of oil palm in the world Yes, we should really be ashamed of ourselves for abandoning palm oil because we discovered crude oil but nevertheless, we can still do something our children will be proud of today. Plant a palm tree today and contribute to the economic growth of this country and also enjoy future financial benefits We have 4 varieties of palm in our nursery: 1. The dwarf hybrid supergene N2500 2. The hybrid dwarf Tenera N1000 3. The hybrid dwarf Dura N1000 4. The indigenous Ojukwu palm N1000 Location: Enugu To order, Whatsapp 08061204834 #NIFORTenera #OilPalm #Nigeria #Agriculture

Malay apple, the backyard money maker, is a tropical apple tree that requires ample humidity, high rainfall, and no frost or cold conditions to thrive. It grows very well in Nigeria. According to Gbenga, “I was introduced to the fruit while visiting my aunt’s place in Lagos in 2005. It would fruit like crazy and since we could not eat all of them we would invite people to pick them. We assumed they were taking them home only to later learn they were being sold at the nearby Balogun Market,” Each Malay apple tree is capable of producing about 2000 apples per harvest when the tree reaches its full fruit-bearing capacity and you can harvest like 2-3 times per year. infact, this species of apple can produce more fruits as compared to the common species. it has the ability to live for over a hundred years Malay apples have the highest juice content as compared to other apple species. You can plant Malay apples in your farm or garden, school, park and home. You can also go into commercial Malay apple plantation Malay apple is highly nutritious and medicinal, it has sweet sour taste and can be eaten as food or used for fruit juice, fruit salad, cider vinegar, jam etc to order, Whatsapp 0806 120 4834, Location: Enugu. TME 419: the 6-Month game changer in cassava business . The TME 419 is a hybrid cassava stem developed by IITA So, What are the benefits of TME 419 from other cassava varieties? -Early harvest(6-10 months, your cassava is ready) -High yeild(30tons per hectare) -High survival rate and resistance to disease (the nodes do not die easily after planting) -Can be intercropped because of its branchlessness-can even serve as stakes for yam -High dry matter and starch quality hence good food garri, fufu and even animal feed -The cassava stems is big money now -the demand is currently more than supply So, can TME 419 really be harvested at 6 months as opined by IITA? Well, according to information from practical farmer in the field : "Any cassava you are harvesting at 6 months is just Wastage" "Harvesting in 6 months is just like training your cat fish to table size... Best time is 9-12months" "You can harvest in 6 months but it will not be like the one you harvested in 10 to 12 months, if you're expecting 30ton in one hectare in 9 to 12 months definitely you won't get that in 6 months" "... let him harvest at 6 months and at 9 months and above. He will be able to know which is better. It's a practical thing any one can do" "don't try to harvest at six months my brother,9 to 10 months and upward is better. Practical experience is better..." So, from information gathered from different practical farmers online, 9-10 months is the best time to harvest. After 12 months, it starts rottening in the soil. Its not like you can't harvest at 6 months but can you maintain good agronomic practices and maintain your farm like IITA? How many stem is in a bundle? We have 50 fresh cassava cutting per bundle. The stem is about 1metre How many bundles can I plant on one plot? 3 On what planting distance? 1mx1m 50 bundles per hectare(15plots) Or you plant at 75cm by 1m to get 4 bundles per plot and 60 bundles per hectare Now, I want to farm cassava, how do I start? -Go and get knowledge so you don't invest wrongly -Prepare your land well: clear the field and make ridges -Plant healthy cassava stem cuttings -keep weed and pest away. The cassava doesn't need to compete with weeds abeg -Harvest when due(from 9-12 months) Where can I get TME 419 in Enugu? Whatsapp 08061204834 How can I get it outside Enugu? Become a Millionaire in 8 weeks through Dry Season Ugu Farming and other Vegetables. Smart farmers farm and harvest in the dry season when there is scarcity of the produce in the market, this is because during the dry season, the market is flooded with farm produce with buyers doing shakara and under-pricing your sweat but during the dry season, they flock your farm to buy produce with pleading of "oga abeg, sell for me". You show them who the boss is during the dry season as they all compete to buy from you 😂 During the dry season, you can actually sell your produce 3-times higher the price you would have sold during the rainy season. Yes!!! Q: What makes our Broad Leaf Ugu Specie special? A: Our Ugu variety is known for its high yield, and doesn't require bamboo staking to do well Q: When is the best time for dry season Ugu farming? A: Plant in October/November and smile to the bank through the dry season Q: How do I protect my Ugu from pests? A: Use organic methods like: -Pepper-garlic spray -Neem water/juice -Wood ash -Manual handpicking and other methods Q: What are the benefits of dry season Ugu farming? 1. High demand and good market prices 2. Can be grown in dry conditions with proper irrigation 3. Can be intercropped with other vegetables 4. Relatively easy to care for 6. Can be harvested in as little as 6-8 weeks Q: How do you sell? A: Send a message on WhatsApp Q.: How many ugu seeds do I need per plot? A: 1,800 seeds but if you intend to plant on a commercial level,do between 1,000-1,500 seedlings. Q: Oh, that's going to cost a lot of money! 😭 A: You can multiply your ugu seeds: make 4 seedlings from 1 seed. The technique will help you reduce cost of buying seeds Q: But how? A: You need ugu seeds, sawdust and organic manure. Here is how: 1. Plant the ugu seeds in sawdust( u sabi how we If the sawdust is in a container, perforate the bottom of the container for excess water to drain. After 5-7days the seeds will have started sprouting( you will see threadlike roots) 2. Split the seed into halves. Planting in sawdust would make this easy. 3. Now use a sharp knife to divide each half into two. Ensure that each part has a root. Very important!! 4. Prepare your planting bed 5. Apply organic manure in the planting holes and mix with the soil in the holes. Please don't use fresh manure o. Use the one that has cured and decayed very well 6. Plant your seedlings It is very good to add dried manure to your planting holes b4 planting the seedlings 4 better results. Q: How often should I water my plants?
