Hello nairalanders,

Please I need advice on this issue because it is really making my family so worried.

My wife gave birth through C-section in a government hospital few days ago. After the baby was born, they did some test on the baby and one of the test says the baby has jaundice. So we were told that we need to treat it. We register for treatment which includes photo therapy. After three days we did another test and the doctor said we can go home now that the jaundice is now very low.

So we were discharged. But since we got home the baby has been feeding well and show no sign of illness but one thing we noticed is that she is not adding weight at all. Her birth weigh was 2.5kg and after 2 weeks when my wife took the baby to collect BG injection at the health centre the baby weight still remain 2.5kg.

As a parents we are now concern because our baby is not adding weight despite her eating a lot. At one month old she still look like a new born baby and still small

I don't know what else to do. I believe the jaundice is no longer is her body because her eyes is now very clean and white. We are just confused on what to do next.

Lastly, my wife gave birth through C-section at 37 weeks. Can that affect the baby having low weight? What could be the problem? Anyone with experience on Whatsapp could be wrong.

This baby feed well on breast milk and naan 1. I am just not happy seeing her weight please mothers in the house I will be waiting in the comment section to read your advice.

babies born a bit early like at 37 weeks sometimes take time to gain weight so just keep checking with the doctor and keep feeding her well.

Please this is not a time to joke. I'm talking of a life here. An innocent baby. Please respect the baby at least.
