Job Title: Driver/Technical Assistant

Job Summary:
CarBoxxNG, a growing car rental service, seeks a very experienced Driver/Technical Assistant to provide transport and technical assistance services to the Business Lead. This role involves driving the business lead/assigned customers to and from assigned locations and providing technical assistance to the rental fleet. This role requires strong problem-solving, communication, technical, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Transport services:
• Manage transport booking requests and safely convey company customers and stakeholders to designated locations.
• Drive the Business Lead as needed, adhering to traffic laws and regulations, and maintaining high professionalism.
• Perform routine checks on the fleet and promptly report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs.
• Renew and ensure all vehicle documents required by the State and Federal Government are up-to-date.

2. Vehicle Maintenance/Technical Assistance:
• Complete vehicle inspection checklists and promptly report any defects, faults, or incidents to the Business Lead.
• Verify vehicle roadworthiness and serviceability by conducting test drives.
• Responsible for inspecting and reporting technical faults before and after a customer rents a vehicle.
• Check that all vehicle equipment and tools (jack, spanner, radio, air conditioning, lights, etc.) are safely secured and functioning correctly.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the fleet vehicles as assigned by the Business Lead.

3. Administrative Support:
• Provide administrative support for the day-to-day running of the rental fleet.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work/costs and perform other tasks as assigned by the Business Lead.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. A full, valid Nigerian driving licence.
2. A bachelor's degree or HND is preferred. Minimum of ND.
3. Minimum of 3 years as a professional driver, preferably in a similar role.
4. Experience in vehicle maintenance, oil changes, and automotive repair is a plus. Experience in a corporate environment is a plus.
5. Not more than 35 years old.

Key Skills and Competencies:
1. Strong vehicle maintenance and technical knowledge.
2. Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, Lagos traffic patterns, and alternative routes.
3. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
4. Tech-savvy (smartphone, WhatsApp, etc) with basic social media knowledge.
5. The candidate should reside in Ikeja and environs, preferably near Magodo GRA.
6. Strong navigational skills and familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
