I'm dealing with a very troubling situation. My neighbor in the flat next to mine is constantly using ice (methamphetamine) every day. His behavior has become increasingly erratic and disturbing. He causes frequent trouble, and at night, he even enters my ceiling space from his apartment.

When his wife tries to caution him, he brushes her off and says things like “Who am I?” and “What can I do?” He has also been spreading lies about me to his relatives and seems to be plotting things with his friends. On a few occasions, I’ve overheard him say things like, “Do I know who he is? , he will kill me,” which is deeply concerning.

Some neighbors have urged me not to react violently, saying it might be a spiritual issue and that confronting him physically could harm or even kill him. This whole situation has become overwhelming for me, and I’m not sure how to move forward without putting myself at risk.

If anyone has experience dealing with something like this—especially involving drugs, threats, and potential mental health or spiritual issues—please advise on the best course of action. I want to stay safe and deal with this lawfully and wisely.

There's nothing spiritual about his issues. This is purely a drug addiction issue and you need to take it seriously. Drug addicts or users are among the people I detest most in life. I can't stand them.

Go and report to the police and make sure you have a video evidence of his trespass next time. Do not take his drug addiction lightly especially when he's already encroaching your personal space. Don't ever have a physical fight with him but you can obviously show your grievances with words.

The day his source of finances runs dry, your properties will be the next thing for him to steal and sell. Make sure you lock your front and back door always and keep your valuables in the house.

Most women don't have class. They can be with anyone as long as they are getting money or being fed. Even the family would be the ones to blackmail them emotionally to stay in the marriage because of money and food!

Poverty is deeper than what people imagine. It's always deeply rooted in the mindset hence the reason people will rather dië in a marriage or relationship than leave!

It's general societal rot........ Families are getting worse, yahoo boy and okpo marries themselves......... what will they produce.

Someone close to me was lost last week to crack........ I didn't know it had become such a common problem.

Fraud boys irritate me also. Most of them lack self-awareness and reek of low self-esteem. The funniest is that they feel big because of the fraud money but I always laugh because if they don't steal money from their victims, they won't be able to afford feeding or even buy data. Bunch of lowlife folks.

And the hookup ladies also, they're just bunch of sex slaves. That's what I see them as. Anyone can sleep with them as long as you have money. They're slaves irrespective of their age. It's already a pandemic in Nigeria because it's very lucrative to the extent that younger girls don't have dreams of achieving things via education or business anymore. They just lust after fraud thieves and enjoy the proceeds.

Education needs to be prioritized and we need to start celebrating educational excellence with huge cash and other things. We should stop celebrating bunch of people with no value!

Yes my landlord have been informed of the matter but he is currently out of the country. He pleaded I try to manage the situation until he returns

His wife just currently put to bed and the few people who came to visit have tried to talk him out of this troublesome behavior but he persists

NDLEA is your friend in this matter... and plan to move out of that house as soon as possible

Thanks for the advice. I purchased a mini spy camera and placed it in the ceiling to get video evidence but the camera is of low quality and it can barely capture anything in the dark space.

I already made a complaint at the police station and they insisted on making an arrest. Since I had no video evidence I knew it will be easy for his family to bail him so I’m still trying to figure out how to get enough evidence

His apartment is always locked. All Windows always shut even the kitchen window is not opened when they are cooking. The curtains are always closed so it’s difficult to see him doing it but myself and the neighbors next to his flat always hear him spark lighter from morning to night. He wears cardigan and hoodies even when it’s sunny outside.

Put the camera in the room he's most likely to breach. And take into consideration the direction of the light source so as to get a clear view. Also make sure you have a written statement with the police to show that you have reported this case.

However, don't trust the police but have video evidence to back up your story.

Other neighbors confirmed he is a cultist and he takes ice. He also have physical features of those who take the drugs.

No properly evidence yet that’s why I have not made any further move.

Exactly. Whatever he smokes is none of my concern. We have not had any issue but he is suspicious of me because he thinks I’m a policeman so he is snooping around and trying to get info about me. I’m just trying to find a way to manage the situation without escalation
