.... not an indictment on Atiku's leadership and ability to hold his ranks

Mynd44:
Okowa's defection is an indictment on Atiku's leadership and abikity to hold his ranks. It someone who was your running-mate can defect less than 2 years then something is seriously wrong somewhere
Mynd44, With all due respect, attributing Okowa’s defection to a failure of Atiku’s leadership is both intellectually lazy and politically dishonest. Let’s not pretend we don’t understand how Nigerian politics works especially under this calamitous and morálly bankrupt Tinubu administration.

Okowa was arrested by the EFCC on November 4, 2024, in connection with the alleged diversion of over ₦1.3 trillion in oil derivation funds during his tenure as Delta State governor from 2015 to 2023. He was also linked to an additional ₦40 billion LNG fund scandal. Fast forward a few months: Okowa defects to the APC, and surprise the once-vigorous corruption probe goes silent and trashed in a can

So let’s call this what it is: not a political indictment of Atiku, but a classic case of corruption laundering via defection a phenomenon that has become a trademark of the Tinubu APC-led government. Under Tinubu’s watch, the EFCC has become a revolving door for selective justice, where alleged looters find immunity through party loyalty.

If anything, Okowa’s defection is a damning reflection on theTinubu and APC’s credibility, not Atiku’s. After all, when a man facing fraud allegations worth trillions suddenly finds shelter in your party, it's not strength, it’s moral bankruptcy.

The likes of Okowa are the formation of the ADC one which Peter Obi campaigned for. So I don't understand your point. Has EFCC dropped their charges against Okowa?!

The picture below is the definition of the bolded above.

Noted. But if you say Okowa is corrupt yet he was Atiku's running mate.

Atiku was second and that means an alleged corrupt man would have been vice president. So the PDP chose a corrupt man to be our Number 2 citizen? So of all the people in PDP, Atiku chose a corrupt person(according to you) as his running mate. That is even an indictment on his ability to chose people to work with

Despite PDP instituting corruption in Nigeria, truth is that the 16 years rule of PDP is a child's play to what is currently happening under APC, mustly under Tinubu's government.

Hahahahaha. This is where the subsidy funds are being utilised. To lure powerful opposition figures into the ruling party.

If Tinubu is very sure that his economic policies are working or would yield positive outcome, why using subsidy funds to lure opposition into your party? Why enriching governors, lawmakers, and the political elites, and asking the masses to endure hardship?

Oh 2027! Pls, come quickly!

Naturally APC is association of past criminals...once u have a criminal record joined APC ,you will never be held accountable of your sins...tinubu is very smart to have decieved us with buharia in 2014 ...then we thought that buharia would fight corruption eventhough he's surrounded by people of questionable characters....like BAT and co....but things became worse....corruption increased

Is there anything else you dedicate your time to doing than wake up and look for stuffs to cry about online? Are you making any tangible progress in any facet of your life at all bro? I'm asking these from a place of genuine concern. You ALWAYS come across as sad and angry.

Do you have a woman in your life? Think you need to spend more time with her, or if you have the funds, go on a light vacation, get some new perspectives about life and the world around you. Earn some positive energy and change for a better .

Okowa did the corruption when he was in PDP...why can't EFCC charge him then?
Now he joined APC and you want APC to charge or reject him...do you really understand how politics is play in Nigeria?
EFCC interrogated Tambuwal last week and all of you were shouting witch-hunting.

The game you guys are playing we understand it very well.

Truth be told, all these happenings are not helping the growth of our developing country.

What matters to them is not the NAME but the transient power they chase.

Posterity should be their greatest concern.

Nigeria will surely outgrow these challenges.

There was once a fantastic tea product from China called One Point One Tea.

Now, in another far country, a boxing match was to hold between a Champion called PABLO and his opponent called RONICOS (Royal Niger Company Slaves).

Before the match, some advisers of PABLO approached one of his oppponents advisers, a certain man called OCOWARD.

The Advisers of of PABLO met with OCOWARD and urged him to join them in advising PABLO.

But OCOWARD staunchly refused.

At length, the Advisers of PABLO said, well, can we offer you the premium new tea from China, called One Point One Tea.

OCOWARD said, well, thats fine, I enjoy tea.

From his pocket, the lead Adviser of PABLO produced a rough and dirty sheet of paper. Puzzled, OCOWARD looked at it.

On it was simply written -

N1.1 T is missing.

OCOWARD laughed nervously. Shooting glances at the advisers of PABLO he said, "Comrades, you dont understand me. I was trying to say I am only waiting for the form to apply as an adviser to PABLO.

"Oh, our dear friend!" - the Advisers to PABLO exclaimed. We know you are amenable to One Point One Tea. We brought the Party Form with us.

They all arose as one, and clicked their bottoms together and went off dancing merrily into the Night.

"For the capture of our slaves!" they cried loudly as they laughed together heartily.

How do you explain the serial defections of your self-appointed messiah Obi? He remains unmatched in party jumping.
Your so called messiah is better known for crossing party lines than for any lasting achievements.

What happened to Okowa's 1.3 trillion naira investigation by the EFCC? Adeleke still has his local government funds withheld, it will be released if he decamps to the APC. If Fubara decamps from the PDP to APC as a conditionality to return to power, minions will still point fingers somewhere else other than to the one who is using apparatus of state to coerce, induce and weaken all opposition and undemocratically causing rancour in all political parties. What can Atiku do about that? We are simply back to the dark politics of yesteryear.

When loyalists and erstwhile allies of BAT like Aregbesola leave, they are termed betrayals but they blame others when the roles are reversed. Hypocrisy.
