You are even answering this clown. When there wasn't any job, Nigerians will complain, when there's creation of job, Nigerians still complaining that who created the job doesn't have any right to create jobs. You can see why some Nigerians are just so unemployable......that's fruit company in Benue is Private partnership with the government. The Benue government knows that the administration can't sustain it and that's why it's Private partnership with the government. Let's be positive towards the country for a change. Right from the time of OBJ, Nigeria no good, Yaradua, the same, Jonathan, the same, Buhari, the same, Tinubu, the same.....aren't we tired of negativity?........say and see something positive in Nigeria, for Nigeria and life will be better....thanks my brother....

You see why our businesses keeps failing, it is because the producers and managers doesn't care much about testing what they produce or sell. If government does not invest how would they know the challenges confronting investments and how they can proffers solutions to them?

The question now is.
What is the federal government spending its own billions and trillions on.

What are the key sectors they are targeting for investment to produce or import substitute stuff.

Where are the areas Nigeria is lacking...
We say power is a problem. Indeed.

But where are the factories to produce transformers, conductors, insulators, switch gear, solar farms, windmills... These are the plans the government should have. This is a lot more sustainable that just throwing cash subsidies at power companies. Rather subsidize their inputs via industry.

When they go on foreign trips this is what they should do. Meet foreign industrial concerns. Offer cash and other incentives to locate factories in Nigeria, pair them with our large and successful industrialists such as Dangote, produce the stuff we badly need and absolutely import.

When these industries are founded and successful the government sells it's holdings and moves to the next sector badly in need of attention.

That is the way to grow and prosper an economy, a nation, and create a legacy.

BenuePolitician:
BIPC BEGINS TESTING OF JUICE PRODUCTION ON BENFRUITS INDUSTRY

The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has commenced testing of juice production at the Benfruits Industry revitalized by the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

The milestone was marked on Wednesday during a successful test-run of the factory located at the Industrial Layout, Makurdi, where the first batch of juice was produced.

Speaking after tasting the first production, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, expressed delight and commended Governor Alia for breathing life back into the company after years of abandonment.

“Today is the happiest day of my life. This company was abandoned for many years, but we have revitalized it,” Dr. Asemakaha said.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that Benue farmers gain full value for their produce, noting that once full-scale operations begin, no orange will leave the state unprocessed.

We want our farmers to have value for their oranges and for every farm produce in the state. This plant will address post-harvest losses, create jobs, increase farmers’ income, raise revenue, and boost the state’s GDP."

Dr. Asemakaha further revealed that the factory would also produce essential oil for pharmaceutical use and organic fertilizer from the orange chaff, ensuring that no part of the fruit goes to waste.

He appreciated the company’s partners SONO Group, Lead Technician Engr. Henry Boager, management, and staff of BIPC for their relentless efforts to make the production dream a reality.

Engr. Boager, the Lead Technician, disclosed that the factory has the capacity to produce four tons of juice per hour, emphasizing that the project would put an end to post-harvest losses and guarantee farmers better returns.

A local farmer, Mr. Wilfred Gbatsoron, expressed gratitude to Governor Alia and the BIPC management for providing a ready market for their produce.

“Before now, our oranges used to waste, but now we have a market. We will expand our farms to increase production,” he said.

The revitalization of Benfruits is one of several industrial revival projects initiated by the Alia administration to promote agro-industrial development and enhance the state’s economy.

This is impressive and a leap in terms of agro-commodities value-addition.

Solar powered cold rooms for low income farmers

That is where government should invest

Central hubs with a network of
Smaller units like 40 foot or 20 foot containers
This would extend the life of oranges from 2 weeks to 3 months
Absolutely.
And the good thing about investing in enterprise is that the government can get its money back in cash.

It doesn't have to tie down it's capital by owning any stake long term. Just ensure by its authority that such enterprises are successful then sell off its holdings and move to other things.

It is then the success of a series of establishments that make the financing of Infrastructure a whole lot easier.

You can imagine the concrete roads Umahi wants to lay all over Nigeria and sweating to do so. It is because such lofty ambitions are not supported by industrial capacity. No steel industrial capacity, limited cement capacity, non existent machine tools capacity...

These are the things government should have solid plans at addressing. Without which the development of a thousand miles will be one step every decade.

Nice one mr governor, please let them maintain this standard of producing fresh juice and not chemical concentrate added with sugar and sold to us as fresh orange juice, , , please privatize this factory so that it can be sustainable before government officials drink every juice on credit.

Also remember the Dangote story.
What catapulted him to the top and increased his capacity overnight was not just establishments. People have forgotten that he did a lot, a lot of acquisitions.

Acquisitions of what..
Government owned enterprises.
Sugar, flour, cement.
He bought out government and increased capacity within a far shorter timeframe that he would have if he started every single one of his factories from scratch.

If he had successfully bought out the NNPC then, a decade ago, the fuel distribution economy will have long evolved into.somethimh more beneficial to Nigeria.

What I am saying is that government has an important, a critical role in triggering industrialization. They have more resources,.they can take bigger risks and have all the cards to make any enterprise succeed.

The errors we have made in the past is about ownership and the nature of government IN BUSINESS. Placing civil servants and politicians in ownership and leadership of industry has not worked.

But if government is able to Build, Stabilize and Sell, this country can advance in double quick time. The resources to industrialize the country are there.

The Benue State government should begin to draw up a solid prospectus. Market that enterprise immediately as it getting underway. Ensure it is successful and profitable and when the right offer comes, sell it off, collect its money and move to the next project.

Oga even in the US there are states that run businesses.
This factory is owned by BIPC which is a private enterprise owned by the government and is registered and operates just like any private business.
The company also owns others like a brewery, bakeries, nails and building rods plant, transport company, commercial plazas which they rent out like the present Abuja HQ building of Taj Bank which for years was occupied by NCC and later Airtel also. These businesses are doing good and hence still functional so why should this one be any different?
