If information from Sahara Reporters is genuine and that the coup plotters had planned to assassinate the President, VP, SP and Speaker of the House, then it is clear that the coup was intended to permanently truncate our democracy by ensuring no succession to the President will be around. Even if the coup did not usher in a military junta, it would have forced a transition govt into place which could easily have been toppled by another set of military officers as was the case under Shonekan. The assassination list, according to same Sahara Reporters included the Minister for Finance. While the minister for finance or any minister for that matter is not within the succession hierarchy, assassinating him exposes another personal vendetta. Did the Minister introduce and oversee fiscal policies that have put an end to the rent seeking class? Or did he have information at his disposal that could be used to assist investigation on corruption on a massive scale ? |

DomPerignon:One thing is certain, Tinubu brought in policies that cut off free money to the political class. The number of parties and V8 convoys have disappeared. |
