We're at war
The Fülanis are on the hunt
Slithering, baring their fangs at Peace
Poisonous spits, coiled above us as we sleep

They seek to take or plunder
In haste to put one under
Ingrates to whom we extended hands
Which they severed to clutch our lands

Our children die from their soulless tools
Aged men drowning in crimson pools
Able bodied men slaughtered for fun
Our women sodomized by their guns

They are rabid pests on our farms
Pesticides are allowed — the government twists our arms
Our cries, the media plays as a ploy to score
You must concede, or leave the field, we are at war

We're at war with our eyes closed
Chasing booze and nudes while the enemy approach
Ours land is one but countless worlds
Unity works, but selfishness is cheaper to afford

We're at war, and our leaders are slaves
Show up for appearances and retreat to their cage
What clowns stand by as their people die
All so he could eat a piece of his own pie

We're at war, yet partying in a siege, oh, fools
They hide in our bushes, rodents armed with tools
You see on TV and say, my God, no one survives this
If our enemies blow that whistle, only a handful will survive it

We are at war, they're in all arms of government
Signing laws that bulges their pockets
They are in the army, first hand access to our armoury
Rewriting our laws so they can willfully harm me

We're at war, between light and darkness
We seek conscience against people heartless
Towing a straight line against those who meander
We have become nails, why they are the hammer

We are at war, off our soil sprouts the crude
Our kids and their cows struggle for our schools
The proceeds of our lands fund their Hajji
But my brother has to starve to feed his family

We are at war, one country, two classes
The Fülanis and the masses
I raise my head and see my people yoked
Rather than cows, it's us who are smoked

We're at war. This is a call to my brothers
Why must we wait to exist no longer?
When do we say enough is enough?
When do we wake up, and give ears to the cries of our blood?
