A pest are any living organism be it an animal, plant, or microbe that interferes with human activity, damages property, or poses a threat to health.
Example,
1, a rabbit in a forest is wildlife, but a rabbit in a garden is a pest.


Prevention and Management:

1, Sanitation:
Keep surfaces clean, store food in airtight containers, and dispose of trash regularly.

2, Exclusion:
Seal cracks, holes, and gaps in walls or around pipes using caulk or steel wool to prevent entry.

3, Eliminate Moisture:
Fix leaky pipes and avoid standing water, which attracts pests like mosquitoes.

4, Proper Identification:
Correctly identifying the pest is critical to choosing the right treatment method.


Common Categories of Pests:

1, Insects & Invertebrates:
Cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, termites, mosquitoes, spiders, and ticks.

2, Vertebrates:
Rodents (mice and rats), certain birds (pigeons), and wildlife like raccoons or squirrels.

Any plant growing where it is not wanted, such as dandelions in a lawn.
